Here at 42 Nerdtastic Place, we believe in kindness, love and charity. There are two primary ways that we try to raise funds to help various causes: charity designs and auctions.
Auctions are run every few months through our Facebook Very-Important-Nerd group. You will be given the option to bid on various items with a portion of proceeds going to the stated charity. In the past, money has been raised for “Random Acts” and “Standing Rock”.
Every so often a movement speaks to us. It then becomes a necklace, keychain or something else all together. These designs are then placed online with a portion of it’s proceeds going to our quarterly charity. Here’s where we stand so far:
2017 Q2 – We will be raising money for “The Crib” in Chicago. I saw the Crib first highlighted on Food Network’s Chopped. It’s a homeless shelter that draws many lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youths.
2017 Jan & Feb – “Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance” ($270) thanks to our Carrie Fisher & Elizabeth Warren designs. And thanks to you!!
2016 Q4 – To Write Love On Her Arms ($350), Deborah’s Place ($350), Greater Chicago Food Bank ($190) thanks to the popularity of the Nasty Women Necklaces
2016 Q3 – Random Acts ($30)
